Well Laban, I've backlinked to you (and you gave us a noticeable reader-surge)! Thanks for jumping first on board with Lovecraft day, we hope more will follow.
The real hope is to get a meme going on the topic. It is insane and ridiculous that Arkham House have managed to reap the financial returns of Lovecraft's estate for 70 years when their case is so dubious, and It would be nice to fire a shot across their bows. (first we take Arkham, then we go to war with Disney... "It's called the bear necessit... Bllaargl Nan Kardanth")
Further, Lovecraftian satire is just plane FUN... And I can think of no better occasion to get into the spirit of the thing.
Any chance of you producing a slightly more substantial piece on the topic? This one seems a little close to mutual blogvertising (a habit we know we should get into, but cant quite face the indignity of).
james, when I was a 14 year old suburbanite I read Crowley and Lovecraft a great deal. These days I'm more of a 'dying, you destroyed our death - rising, you restored our life' sort of chap, but I've always had a soft spot for the sexist and racist misanthrope. I liked his words too - 'arcane', 'eldritch', his use of 'curious'.
My all time fave is 'Unknown Kadath' - a great fantasy world.
I'm curious, why do you describe Lovecraft as a racist? Sexist yes, misanthrope undoubtedly, but why racist?
I just ran a Cthulhu oriented Live Action Roleplay called Area 52 a few weeks ago...great fun, especially the moment where the poor chap deciphering the symbols on the side of the homemade sarcophagus finally put it all together...

Sounds more plausible and benign than Islam.
OK, went through that sicko stuff but where do you fit into it all, Laban?
