'teaching other religions to our sisters'

Soon it'll be time for my daughter's school trip to the local mosque, which all pupils get when they hit year 9. I do wonder whether her Muslim classmates get a trip to a Sikh temple, a Catholic Church or a Jehovah's Witnesses assembly (to be fair, they're exposed to Catholicism-lite as pupils at a Catholic school).

From London, this :

"Four men launched a horrific attack on a teacher in which they slashed his face and left him with a fractured skull because they did not approve of him teaching religion to Muslim girls. Akmol Hussein, 26, Sheikh Rashid, 27, Azad Hussain, 25, and Simon Alam, 19, attacked Gary Smith with a Stanley knife, an iron rod and a block of cement. Mr Smith, who is head of religious education at Central Foundation Girls' School in Bow, East London, also suffered a fractured skull."

I remember wondering if it was just a coincidence or if he was targeted. What's weird is :

"Detectives made secret recordings of the gang's plot to attack Mr Smith prior to the brutal assault. The covert audio probe captured the gang condemning Mr Smith for 'teaching other religions to our sisters', the court heard."

Couldn't they have stopped it ? Just imagine if police had been monitoring the planning of some semi-mythical white supremacists before they succeeded in an attack - the conspiracy theorists would be all over the Guardian opinion pages. I would have thought Mr Smith would be consulting his union* - and his lawyers.

* yes, I know they'd have the squits over a case like this and would probably rather a dozen teachers were incapacitated than do anything that could possibly be seen as inimical to the rainbow nation narrative. But they are, formally, supposed to look after the interests of their members. This guy's been seriously injured for teaching the national curriculum.

Maybe no-one got around to listening to the tapes until after?

Yeah. Right!

Can we be sure this vicious attack wasn't the work of the "far-right"?

Like the defacement of Burton War Memorial was initially allegedly supposed to be.

No doubt CIF will fearlessly address this; just like they fearlessly addressed the recent C4 dispatches by not mentioning it

"disbelievers are the worst kind of creatures"

The controlled media immediately started peddling the tale that the Loon school in Brum was being closed because of the danger presented by the "far right"; although of course it is in the middle of a several square mile Islamic fastness

On the other hand, if you've got a decent number of Muslims in your school, there's a reduced chance that they will try to shove the homosexualist and "sex education" agenda down their throats.

re: School visits

My brother-in-law was a teacher in Bradford. There are visits arranged to Sikh and Hindu Temples, Christian Churches and Muslim Mosques for certain. All children are invited to attend. By and large all the white children attend all the other places of worship. However the reverse doesn't happen. Most Muslim children do not see any other place of worship. They are given notes by their parents or kept off school. That's not 100%. I do not know about the Sikh and Hindu children. And this info is at least 5-6 years old, so things may have changed.

A "decent" number will be an overwhelming number within a few years

The Police & the Council (Tower Hamlets)in the area where the assault took place are not in the habit of stirring up hornets nests (ie hate filled local muslims)- as this news item shows:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-12526820

Rather, they appear to be in full appeasement mode- note too how the local residents 'taking a stand' on this issue are very coy about identifying the likely culprits-

'"We don't want to blame any particular group for this," said Mr Blake.

I thought that it was well established that it was the "far right"

"Stickers have been placed around London’s East End, declaring it a “gay-free zone”.

The messages, posted on buildings and lampposts close to Shoreditch gay nightspots George & Dragon and the Joiners Inn, say “Arise and warn. Gay free zone. Verily Allah is severe in punishment.”....

However, Jack Gilbert, the co-chair of LGBT forum Rainbow Hamlets, suggested that they could be the work of the groups such as the English Defence League.

“We have evidence that they were very likely to have been produced by far-right sources in order to forment community tension,” he said."

A few years ago, wasn't there a minister who was similarly attacked because he prevented moslems from using his church's crucifix as the backboard of a basketball court?

Clearly Gilbert is terminally stupid.

What he is saying in effect is that muslims are more tolerant of him and his LGBT chums than members of the EDL.

Really, how likely is that?

Used to live in Southall.

I remember encountering a guy (early twenties, "working class polite" at a bus stop on a Saturday morning, begging for money so that he could move somewhere where his daughter wasn't the only white kid in her class.

Not a happy thought.
