The Way We Were - Scally Edition
Panorama investigates the Anfield Kop in 1964. Check out the number of ties (many), and the number of women (few). A different world.
Many would have come fairly direct from work (yes, half-days were routinely worked on a Saturday then) which would help account for the ties and suits. And of course for most men there was still no tradition of casual or leisure wear. It was a choice of work suit or Sunday Best suit.
