Lib Dems Disintegrating ...

Ian Dale :

"No one can take any pleasure from this"

I fear, Ian, you have a very idealistic nature for a conservative. We are all sinners. (Sound of hastily smothered laugh).

You do have to question the judgement of one who was running for the leadership. Had he won and then been outed as using 'sex workers', he'd have single-handedly shattered the party.

Instead, the shattering appears to be a 'joint enterprise'. So far, two alcoholics and a punter. Next please !

"... he'd have single-handedly shattered the party."

And this in the party, more or less, whose one-time leader was Jeremy Thorpe.

yeah its real funny. They were saying they wanted a long contest like the Conservatives in order to get publicity for the party, lets hope they get it.

The comments from the so-called 'Conservatives' (and indeed the whimpering oh the poor man, how unfortunate for him' nature of the post itself) in reply are a very clear indicator of how far gone into Liberal Psychosis the 'neu' Tory Party is. These guys would doubtless call themselves True Blue - and they sound more like Libs than the Lib Dems do.

Within a few mniles of wher I live, Lib Dem councillors have been convicted of receiving and selling stolen goods, drink driving, and indecent assault on a minor.

Private Eye had a short piece on John Hemming, LibDem MP for Birmingham Yardley, who, as well as being a self-confessed serial adulter and getting his researcher pregnant, apparently enjoys a wee drink or two, or three ...

Lloyd George famously shattered the Liberal Party, yet idiots like Michael Heseltine, the late John Maynard Keynes, and Tony Blair admire the Welsh Rat for some reason baffling reason.

The greatest Liberal leaders, Gladstone and Asquith, both had vices. This nation would have been poorer had they been denied high office.
