Limeslade Bay

If you want snaps of punky herons, Harpy is your only (wo)man.

Her views of the turbulent sea off Mumbles inspired me to take the camera when I was down there today.

It was pretty grey and getting dark, so it looks black and white. But Laban's no Ansel Adams, that's for sure.

The magic of digital effects turns a slightly blurry shot :

Into something a bit more more pointilliste :

(I know it's all going to hell in a handcart ... but I'm too tired to blog political and cultural reality. Harpy and I look at the world from very different angles, but she blogs herons for the same reason I'm blogging Mumbles. At this moment I agree with Molesworth 2 :)

'How beautiful,' sa your mum to your pater. 'If only you could be noble like that ocasionaly.'

'It is only a world of makebelieve,' he repli. 'You must face up to reality.'

'Reality,' sa molesworth 2, 'is so unspeakably sordid it make me shudder.'

Digital can only compensation for some things - the best equipment in the world is still no substitute for the eye for a good pic.

Ooh Limeslade. I didn't get my annual visit to Wales last year cos I had to repair my car.

Not sure I can afford to go this year either, rental prices have shot through the roof. :(

I might have to investigate house-swapping.

I'm a crap photographer too.

I think they are excellent waves, better than the ones I captured, much more powerful. Thanks for the kind words btw. I might start a heron fanclub :)

Softer take on things?

Just looked at Harpymarx's latest post.

The protest looks worryingly white. Where is the diversity?

For example we know the Tea Party are closet nazis because they are nearly all white, so I guess that disability campaigners must be too. But, somehow, they arent?

I hope this hiatus is temporary.

You are missed.

Five weeks, this is getting serious. Are you OK?

Surely this can tempt you out of retirement... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-16974149

I notice that Laban has been moderately active on CiF. I guess he's just busy.
