Oborne strikes me as something of a buffoon.

The Telegraph Tory squires are pretty witless really(and the ideologues like Hannan are utter crackpots).

They see no inconsistency apparently in rejecting foreign political domination whilst welcoming foreign economic domination - their famous free market - with open arms.

Only a complete dolt or a malign loon or sharper would fail to recognise that without key economic assets under national control and a half decent industrial base there can be no meaningful political independence
