Mr Knowles is very Young Conservative. In the days of my callow youthfulness, I would have heaped scorn on him for his swotty headboyishness. Tories under the age of 25 used to get a lot of stick.

His blog pieces are very credible. It's great that the Telegraph is rearing a nest of fledging fogeys, and that these bloggers have the confidence to express views which are generally held to be unfashionable.
