"Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold" - W.B. Yeats.
"We're doomed !" - Private Frazer.
"Like scrolling through a decade's worth of Daily Mail editorials in 20 minutes" - TheLoonyFromCatford
"Linda Blair, a clinical psychologist, said educating older children and teenagers about sex had to be a process of negotiation.“We do not know what is right and wrong; right and wrong is relative, although your child does need clear guidelines,” she said."
And that just about sums up the views of the "educated" on any moral position.
Torturing and murdering the disabled? “We do not know what is right and wrong; right and wrong is relative"
Sexually abusing children? “We do not know what is right and wrong; right and wrong is relative"
Beating people to death? “We do not know what is right and wrong; right and wrong is relative"
I could go on and on but why bother. It's idiots like this that have the influence to change government policy in all spheres. They have the inside track and we, the ordinary people, are expected to do what we're told because they have the degrees and the "education".
The elitism of the aristocracy and the capitalists replaced by the elitism of the "educated" and "enlightened".
They view us as scum to be corralled and controled. To be ignored and sneered at when we voice an opinion. Just read the comments in the Magistrates Blog from some of the more "educated" posters for a feel of how we're really viewed; "Ed" is one example.
So thats it, Britain lost one elite and gained another in the name of "progress". But the same attitudes remained. Keep the natives down just like in the days of empire, only now they cant go overseas to do it, so they do it here instead.
Look at who some of the new elite are descended from, Labans pointed out a few over the years. Their ancestors were ruling the empire and now in the name of reform they apply the same attitude to us. Mind you reading the social reformers of the 19th and early 20th centuries makes you see how the attitudes converge, an alien people "beyond the pale", who just need to pointed in the right direction. If they object then point out that you have the education, prove it with "facts", "evidence" and "studies"; and if that doesnt work use the law to enforce your will.
And the answer to it all? Well I could sign up for a latter day Cromwells army!

Laban, sorry for rambling on in your comments.
Linda Blair? This Linda Blair?
Now that explains a lot.
Be fair, Earl of Shilton. Our rulers have no trouble at all getting moralistic when it comes to racism, sexism and homophobia.
